Biography: Andrea J. Scott
Classes: Preschool through advanced. Mainly jazz but also hip-hop, tap, and ballet. Directs Moving Company Competition Team and runs the retail store. Also co-manages The Moving Company as the business manager.
Education: Like many of our students Andrea attened East Grand Rapids Public Schools. She holds degrees in both Finance & Business Management from Grand Valley State University.
Experience: Andrea has danced at The Moving Company since age 3. As a child she attended Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp to further her studies in technical ballet. In middle school she began to compete regionally with The Moving Company’s first competitive team. Now as a choreographer and coach her routines have been recognized at the regional and national level. She enjoys furthering her dance education at LADF, CODANCE, and NYCDA. She also spends at least a week each summer training at the EDGE Performing Arts Center in Hollywood. Her Performances include: MoCo dance recitals and GR Festival highlights since 1984. The Sound of Music at Howmett through Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp and A Chorus Line at Circle Theater. Student director and assistant choreographer for several EGRHS Productions. In 2007, Andrea had the opportunity to work out in L.A. with the "American Idol Tour" as the assistant director! In addition to teaching dance, Andrea is also a personal trainer at MVP Sportsplex.
