2008-2009 Competition Team
Team Requirements
Consistent attendance is mandatory! No more than three absences permitted per student per class during the season. Competition is a commitment - no drops and no refunds!
If you are competing in...
- Jazz you must take your assigned competition jazz class and a ballet class.
- Tap you must take your assigned competition tap class and any jazz or ballet class.
- Ballet/Lyrical you must take your assigned competition ballet/lyrical class and a regular ballet technique class.
- Hip-Hop you must take your assigned competition hip-hop class and any jazz or ballet class.
When is the Competitive Season?
Because we will be using some of your child's class time as their competition rehearsal, the extra time commitment is minimal. We will be attending three competitions between January and May of 2009.
The competitions release their schedules late summer allowing us to pick the best competitions and provide you with our travel dates in October 2008.
Where do the competitions take place?
Typical cities we attend include Grand Rapids, Kalamazoo, Lansing, and Detroit. We will try our best to attend quality competitions as close to home as possible.
Cost
Regular MoCo Tuition Costs Plus:
- $50 increased costuming costs
- $85 administration/coaching costs
- $135 for competition entry fees
- One Time Mandatory Make-Up Costs: $56
- Optional Warm-Up Costs: $85-$120
Only $270 per number on top of regular tuition costs!
What about Specialty Numbers & Senior Small Groups?
If you are interested in competing a solo, duo, trio, or a senior small group, you must audition.
- Spring Auditions are Saturday, May 3rd from 1:00-3:00.
- Fall Auditions Saturday, September 13th from 11:30-1:30.
Audition forms will be available at the front desk one week prior to the audition dates. We hope to have specialty numbers participate in recital but there is no guarantee.

Spring Auditions are Saturday, May 3rd from 1:00 to 3:00. Audition forms are available at MoCo front desk and can also be printed here.. Audition forms are due no later than May 1st.
